NEXT.cc is pleased to be a UNESCO Greening Education Partner. The partnership is a group of organizations and individuals worldwide who are dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and social justice in sustainability through innovative learning initiatives. NEXT.cc’s international efforts contribute to UNESCO’s Four Pillars- GREENING SCHOOLS, GREENING CURRICULUM, GREENING COMMUNITIES, and GREENING CAPACITY and are dedicated to significantly expanding youth voice and imagination as future leaders in fostering a greener and more sustainable future.

NEXT.cc’s introduction to what design is, what it does, and why social collaboration is vital to human ingenuity sends an urgent call across the planet. The world’s youth are our future leaders, and they, more than anyone, need to connect with the world right from where they are during K-12 learning experiences. NEXT.cc’s offering of place-based activities associated with creative careers and social change institutions is essential for all school students. NEXT.cc’s Co-Founders, two architects and environmental designers (Mark Keane, Faculty Emeritus, University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee and Linda Keane, FAIA, Faculty Emerita, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago) work on Green Initiatives along the Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, and Minneapolis Corridor while partnering internationally with schools and programs sharing resources that change awareness and understandings, activating engaged stewardship. Experience in Greening Schools, Creating Accessible Environmental Education Curriculum, Designing Green Conservation Communities, and working to increase awareness of Climate Change are all resilient responses, encouraging societal changes to offset temperature rise and biodiversity loss.

NEXT.cc’s commitment to advancing sustainable development aligns perfectly with the seventeenUnited Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to quality education (SDG 4) and climate action (SDG 13). Through our innovative approaches to teaching and sustainability, we have educated and inspired thousands of teachers, students, and schools, and contributed to creating a more resilient and environmentally conscious society.

NEXT.cc collaborates internationally with teams of educators, students, interns, educators, practitioners, and volunteers worldwide to engage youth voice and participation and resilience from wherever they are. NEXT.cc’s contributors create an eco web village of educational resources for the world. Whether through diverse national teachers’ organizations or running family-to-K12 workshops with different organizations and institutions, NEXT.cc’s free and accessible discovery education helps individuals explore the world right from where they are.
